Abstract This work aims to investigate the effect of Magneto-Rheological (MR) Damper on the dynamic response of a rotating unbalance single degree of freedom system (SDOF). This thesis consists of six chapters. Chapter one is an introduction through which the meaning of rheology will be defined and the classification of rheological fluids will be presented. Some applications that use MR dampers will be shown and the classification of suspension system will be presented. In chapter two a literature search is conducted to investigate the previous research done in any of the areas related to this work. The areas of vibration absorbers and magneto-rheological dampers are of primary interest. chapter three includes the theoretical analysis of the rotating unbalance system. Also the Bouc-Wen model of MR damper is adopted to characterize its performance in terms of force-time, force - displacement and force-velocity relationships and the result sare compared with the previous studies |
