Abstract

On the light of the obtained data of the present study, it could be concluded that, in order to collect good quantities of dry bee venom having high quality, the following points should put in consideration:-
- June, February, May and March months, respectively, represented the suitable time for collection the bee venom having good quality under conditions of Dakhla Oasis, New Valley governorate.
- Exposure the honey bee colonies to electrical impulses for 45 minutes resulted in depositing an economic amount of bee venom, where exposure for more time did not contribute in extracting more bee venom by a significant amount .
- Insertion the collection plates on bottom board of the hive seem to be the suitable place for collection more amount of bee venom, but for avoidance contamination of the deposited venom, insertion those plates on top frame seem to be preferable.
- Although collection bee venom at night greatly helped in obtaining the highest amount of bee venom, but for safety issue collection of that venom in early morning seem to be more suitable for the beekeeper.
- Supplying the honeybee colonies with pollen substitute’s food contributed in high yield of the produced bee venom having good quality.
- Honeybee colonies headed by one-year-old queens produced the highest amount of the bee venom.
- Egyptian bee race have remarkable production capacity of bee venom in comparison to Carniolan bees or its hybrid.
- Storage of bee venom is detrimental process even under refrigerator’s conditions, where the most potent component underwent to some degradation.
