In fact, the world at present witnesses a current huge and quick era of development all over the various aspects of life fields including as well communication and information technology which affect all divergent life activities which most important is the educational process. The state is attempting to benefit from this technology for developing the educational process through educational programs proposed to students, fighting by this the private lessons. However, this target is not appropriately achieved affecting slightly in the instructional process but never preventing private courses. The present study tries to spotlight on the relationship between students’ attitudes towards educational programs and some variables.
Study Significance:
1. Expending lots of money on preparing and presenting the educational programs in order to achieve the target.
2. Prevalence of private lessons phenomena which exhaust family’s budget.
3. Tackling with critical issue that is the relationship between students’ attitudes towards educational programs and some variables.
4. Proposing assistance for those in charge of the educational programs in satellites by presenting suggestions concerning educational programs.
Study Objective:
1. Finding out the differences between study sample items in both urban and rural areas on scale of attitudes towards educational programs.
2. Finding out the differences between males and females on scale of attitudes towards educational programs.
3. Finding out the differences between study sample items on scale of attitudes towards educational programs due to difference in cultural and economic level of their parents (high – low).
4. Finding out the differences between study sample items in preparatory and secondary stage on scale of attitudes towards educational programs.
Study Hypotheses:
1. There are significant statistical differences between average scores of urban and rural areas on scale of attitudes towards educational programs.
2. There are significant statistical differences between average scores of study sample individuals regarding the sex variable (males and females) on scale of attitudes towards educational programs.
3. There are significant statistical differences between average scores of study sample individuals regarding variable of the cultural and socio-economic level of individuals (low- high) on scale of attitudes towards educational programs.
4. There are significant statistical differences between average scores of the study sample individuals of preparatory (grade3) and secondary stage (grade3) on scale of attitudes towards educational programs.
Method & Procedures:
Study Method:
The present study uses the qualitative comparative method, studying variables as in reality with no modifications; examining as well the relationship between students’ attitudes towards educational programs and some variables.
Sample:
It consists of (800) male/female students of preparatory and secondary stage aged (14-15 year olds) divided into two groups for each stage, divided into (200 males/200 females) for each group. Each group is also divided into (100) urban and (100) rural persons from West Tanta educational directorate and Bassyuon directorate.
Study Instruments:
- Parents Socio-Economic & Cultural Form ( by Abdel Aziz El-Shakhs, 1995).
- Scale of Students’ Attitudes Towards Educational Programs (by researcher).
Statistical Approaches:
- Frequencies and percentages for identifying the sample characteristics (sex – student’ education stage – father’s job – mother’s job – family number).
- Independent T. Test, for testing differences.
- Alfa Crunbach Coefficient for covariance analysis.
Study Results:
1. There are no significant statistical differences between average scores of study sample items of urban and rural areas on scale of attitudes towards educational programs.
2. There are significant statistical differences between average scores of study sample individuals of (males and females) on scale of attitudes towards educational programs regarding the total score, the behavioral dimension, and the emotional dimension at significance level (0.01) and the cognitive dimension at (0.05).
3. There are significant statistical differences between average scores of study sample individuals regarding the(low- high) cultural and socio-economic level of parents on scale of attitudes towards educational programs, as the total score for cognitive and behavioral dimension is (0.05) and insignificant for emotional dimension.
4. There are significant statistical differences between average scores of the study sample individuals of preparatory (grade3) and secondary stage (grade3) on scale of attitudes towards educational programs as the total score for cognitive and behavioral dimension is (0.01) and insignificant for emotional dimension.
