Abstract
Post partum period is considered to be a very vital time for the delivered mothers as the many changes occur in this period. So need to establish ,apply, maintain and improve the quality of health care provided by nurses is very important. This study was conducted in order to investigate the quality of immediate post partum nursing care provided to mothers as perceived by nurses at Menofiyahospitals. This was achieved through determiningthe various nursing activities,which are carried out by nurses for mothers and their babies during immediate post partumperiod and assessingmothers satisfaction about nursing care services provided during post partum period. The study was conducted inpost partum unit (Shebin EL-Kom University hospital, Shebin EL-Kom Teaching hospital and Talahospital. The total number of nurses are 152 nurses and 152 mothers. Two different instruments were used to collect the data.The first instrument consisted of two parts,a questionnaire sheet to collect data from nurses and Observation checklist to assess the quality of immediate postpartum nursing care.Thesecond instruments alsoconsisted of two parts aquestionnaire sheet to collect data from mothers and Satisfaction scale to estimate the mothers satisfaction about the quality of immediate nursing care during post partum period. Piloting was performed to test the practicality and applicability of the instruments and to detect any obstacles and /or problems that may be encountered during data collection. The questionnairesheet was distributed to the nurses and mothers after abriefexplanation of the purpose of the study where as observation check list was used by the researcher. Data analysis was done using the appropriate statistically devices.
