Abstract

The clinical signs of affected birds had showed swollen joints, sitting on hock joint and keel bone, recumbent, swelling of foot pad, Sever inflammation in hock joint, gradual emaciation and finally died. Postmortem examination revealed swelling of joints and foot pad filled with inflammatory exudates. The bacteriological examination revealed that 258 coagulase positive staphylococcus from 308 samples and identified by VITEK apparatus as staphylococcus aurues (83.8%) and 50 isolates were coagulase negative staphylococcus which identified as staphylococcus lentus (16.23%). The high incidence of S. aureus of examined broilers recorded from 24 days
Eighty eight E. coli isolates from infected joint with frequencies (28.6%) from broiler chicken. The thirty E. coli isolates were identified to 6 different serotypes, namely O78, O125, O55, O166, O146 and untypable with percentage of 26.7%, 13.3%, 23.3%, 16.7%, 13.3% and 6.7% respectively. Four salmonella isolates from joint with percentage (1.3%); Six pseudomonas aerogenosa from foot pad and joint with frequencies (1.95%) and Six isolates of Pasteurella multocida with frequencies (1.95%).
