Abstract

Background the thyroid hormones are recognized as a major metabolic hormone that play a critical role in Bain development, mediate important effects within the CNS throughout life and regulate the metabolism and functions of various neurotransmitters.
The study was aimed to investigate the role of heme oxygenase in hippocampus of thyroidectomies rate administrated hemin (as HO inducer) and ketoconazole (KTZ) (as HO inhibitor). Also, the present study aimed to elucidate the role of hemin and ketoconazole supplementation as a HO inducer and inhibitor respectively.
