Abstract This thesis aimed to study some causes (environmental pollutants) which may be related to cause endocrine disruptors especially Pesticides (Organochlorine Pesticides (OCPs): Alachlor, Aldin, Dieldrin, Heptachlor epoxide, Lindane, p,p`-DDE, Organofluorine Pesticide: Trifluralin. Organophosphorous pesticides: Chlorpyrifos, Diazinon, Disulfoton, Ethion, Parathion –Methyl), Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs 28, 52, 118, 138 and 180) which are found in samples and some heavy metals : Lead and Cadmium.this thesis included three chapters. the study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University to collect samples from patients and control (healthy women) was taken. The study was carried out on 101 women recruited from the outpatient clinic of the Women Health Hospital, Assiut University, Egypt. These were classified into two groups: 52 cases with definite diagnosis of missed abortion and history of two or more events of RPL and 49 controls with normal first trimester pregnancy and normal obstetric history.the concentrations of these pollutants are determined by using (Gas chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC/MS)and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectroscopy (GFAAS). The results showed that there is an influence of pesticides, polychlorinated biphenyls, lead and cadmiumon agrowing number of recurrent pregnancy loss. |
