The theme of this study (semantic search for Ibn al Jawzy ” 597 AH”) The importance of the study was detrmined in two aspects: the first is that semantic issues have attracted the attention of the old Arab scientists with different approaches such as Koranic studies scientists who were interested in the interpretation of Quranic discourse to devise legal provisions, and linguists were interested in the rules of disciplining the discourse on the level of lexicon and collocation, and the rhetoric scholars were keen on the production of discourse , where this team was interested in functional dimension, or what can be called the conditions of the production of discourse , these studies mostly lacked for peer aspects, thus this study came as an attempt to hold the link between our linguistic herisemantic e and data of modern language lesson. The second lies in exploring the thought of Ibn al Jawzy by detecting the semantic features in his researches functionally and practically. The study plan seems be in two parts: the first is concerned with descriptive and analyticalside, by describing the Semantic phenomena through extrapolation of the views of Ibn al Jawzy, in texts that came in their contexts, then analyzing them by linking those views with linguistic level assigned to it, and it came in two parts where the first part dealt with: language Context, which dealt with the use of Ibnal Jawzy of language levels in semantic analysis, and the second chapter dealt with: the social context, in which I dealt with the use of external data in the analysis, and dealt in the third chapter with the causal context for Ibn al Jawzy. The second part singled studied the semantic relations for Ibn alJawzy, and it was in five chapters, the first chapter dealt with : synonyms, antonyms for Ibn alJawzy, and Chapter II dealt with: verbalmutuality for Ibn alJawzy, and Chapter IIIdealt with: antonyms for Ibn alJawzy, fourthChapter IIIdealt with: the multiplicity of meaning for Ibn alJawzy, where I offered in these chapters the position of Ibn alJawzyregarding these phenomena, and his approach in their interpretation, and devoted the fifth chapter for the semantic ambiguity Part III dealt with: semantic change in the terms, and including three chapters: the first chapter dealt with: the transmission of semantics , and the second chapter dealt with was in the study of the allocation of semantics , and the thirdchapter dealt with thegeneralization ofsemantics.
