Abstract Some researchers have described that placental location has implications for poor pregnancy outcomes, including preterm birth and small for gestational age (SGA).THERE IS A significant association between placental location and uterine artery resistance and adverse outcomes cuch as oreeclampsia and IUGR.The present study aimed to investigate the hypothesis that preeclampsia is rare in pregnant women with placenta previa and the presence of placenta previa is associated with increase in blood supply to pregnant uterus in comparison with normal pregnancies. The study recruited 200 pregnant women. They were equally divided into two groups: group I comprised women with placenta previa while group II comprised women without placenta previa (control group). All participants were followed up until labor to watch for preeclampsia. In addition, they were subjected to uterine artery Doppler assessment to discover the relation of uterine artery hemodynamics to the prevalence of PE in the studied groups. |
