Abstract Hospital environmental surfaces may be contaminated with micro-organisms, despite emphasis for hand hygiene, implementation of transmission precautions, and use of environmental cleaning measures, nosocomial crosstransmission is an important cause of nosocomial infections and even outbreaks of multidrug-resistant organisms in many healthcare institutions(6. Conventional cleaning is not always effective for the elimination of pathogens as there are areas that are inaccessible and difficult to clean. In addition, sensitive medical equipment may not be compatible with liquid cleaning agents A number of new technologies have been developed to improve on the existing methods of environmental decontamination. Among these various technologies that have many advantages are hydrogen peroxide and its compounds. The aim of this work was to evaluate the biological efficacy of Hydrogen Peroxide vapour on bacterial decontamination in Tanta Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. |
