Abstract

As it is mentioned in the objeot of this work its goals are 1. Determination of the amount of entrained air. suoked from surrounding atmosphere by a single port cylindrical burners as applied to Bunsen and some stove burners as a function of gas flow rate, available area for air entrainment expressed as a ratio of the crass-seotional area of the burner tub e, burner tub e length and burner tube diameter 2. etermination of’the optimum burner tube length, diameter and gas orifioe diameter necessary to.burn a certain range of gas flow rate as well as theo.ptimum area ratio for air entrainment.:he following conclusions were obtained 1. The amount of air entrained increases, i.e •• the gas %deoreases as the gas flow rate increases while axial distance
for air entrainment remains constant until blow off ooours or achieving maximum gas flow rate for the orifice at a certain gas pressure. 2. The amount of air entrained increases as the area ratio inoreases reachs its maximum at an optimum area ratio and decreases Sli~ltly vmen the area ratio increases beyond the cptrimum value 3.
