Abstract
The present study was planned to examine a number of different water sources in Dakahleia province center in a trial to detection of protozoa and Nematoda present Forty samples were collected seasonally from various water sources in Dakahleia in years (2010-2011-2012) and the study revealed the following : 1- Tap water is contaminated by 34 species of protozoa and Nematoda eggs. Some of these species have pathogenic effect for human such as (Cryptosporidium parvum – Naegleria fowleri- Acanthmeaba spp.- Cyclospora cayetanensis- Isospora bigemina ). And this can lead to water born outbreaks. 2- River Nile is contaminated by 19 species of protozoa . 3- Ground water is clear from any species of protozoa or Nematoda eggs.
