Abstract

Results of this study show that integrating social and independent living skills’ training with the strengths-model of case management improves social and adaptive functioning of inpatient subjects diagnosed with psychotic disorders as well as their level of psychopathology. Of the potential strengths of this study is undertaking two systematic reviews in the literature review chapter investigating integrating the strengths based case management with other psychosocial interventions with the strengths-based approach quantitatively and a qualitative investigation of the evidence about the strengths based practices qualitatively. Results of these two systematic reviews indicated that more empirical support is required to test the efficacy of this integration. from both systematic primary literature review and the results of the current study, the following recommendations are drawn: 1- Conducting mix method quantitative –qualitative research investigating the intervention quantitatively in addition to investigating service users’, families, and practitioners’ perspectives about integrating both social and independent living skills’ training with the strengths model of case management. 2 -Testing some outcome variables to future research where quality of life is assessed after participants’’ discharge from the hospital. 3- Conducting the strengths-based intervention in the community because one of the principles of the strengths0based practices is employing the service in the community where the community is considered an oasis for resources for the clients.
