Abstract This study was conducted on ten patients with dentoalveolar fractures. They were selected from the outpatient clinic of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University and Ministry of the interior-Alexandria Police Hospital A.P.H, during the period from May 2013 to November 2014. The purpose of this study was to evaluate, radiographically the use of cone beam computerized tomography (CBCT) as a high diagnostic tools in Oral surgery field to achieve better outcome in patient care. Patient, who participated in this study, were free from any systemic conditions that compromise CBCT. They were male only and their mean ages were 26 years. All radiographic examination must be justified on individual to needs and CBCT examination shouldn’t be done without initially obtaining a thorough medical history and clinical examination. The patients were process traditional X–ray and CBCT on traumatized area before any intervention to made correct diagnosis and treatment plan. The images compared to each other to show the missed data which altered the treatment plan before any management or surgical intervention that decrease pain postoperatively and increase success of treatment. |
