Abstract
The aim of the work is distributed over four principles, investigation of the use of date stones as substrate for production of organic acids by the use of specific microorganism and study of some biological activities such as antimicrobial, antioxidant and anti-diabetic of crude extracts of date stones.This study deals with the isolation of bioactive compounds from the aerial parts and flowers of Gerbera jamesonii hybrida. The phytochemical evaluation of extracts using column chromatography, TLC, purification and crystallization leads to isolation of several compounds. The chemical identity of the isolated compounds was evidenced by different spectroscopic techniques.The thesis is divided into four parts:-This thesis resulted in isolation of various compounds from the wastes of both date stones and leaves of bitter orange and grapefruit. In addition to production of certain organic acids utilizing available micro-organisms. Besides, evaluation of biological activity of different extracts and isolated compounds through several assays.
