Abstract

In the present study was conducted in Department of Animal Production, Faculty of Agriculture, Zagazig University .The experimental work was carried out in goat Farm, Experiment Farms Project, Biological Application Department, Radioisotopes Applications Division, Nuclear Research Centre, Atomic Energy Authority, Inshas, Sharkia Egypt. The study was conducted on Seventy two (36 males or 36 females) weaned Damascus kid’s goats were used in this experiment. Thirty six (18 male or 18 female) kids were born during mild climate (January) and Thirty six (18 male or 18 female) were born during hot climate (May). In each climate, 18 male or female kids were classified (6) born as singles, (6) born as twins and (6) were born as triples. The objective of the study is to evaluate effect of season and litter size at birth on animals born during the mild or hot season to onset of sexual puberty. Present study showed that season at birth significantly (P<0.05 or 0.001) effected on rectal temperature, skin temperature, respiration rate ,body weight ,body measurements ,hormones level in male or female, and also, Tunica dartos response in male, and cervical mucus traits in female, while litter size significantly affected (P<0.05 or 0.001) on respiration rate ,body weight ,body measurements, hormones level in male or female, Tunica dartos response in male. It was concluded from this study that animal borne during mild condition and single litter size reach to puberty at earlier age, heavier weight and earlier development of reproduction hormones. Although when choosing breeding males or female preferably selected from born in mild season and single litter size .Which reach to sexual puberty with shorter age and heavier weight according to the result of tunica dartos response , serum testosterone level in male and cervical mucus and estradiol level in female.
