Abstract In the present study, the raw montmorillonite clay has been modified by acid treatment, thermal treatment and Organo-treatment by using ρ- amino benzoic acid. Copper and silver metal nanoparticles were immobilized with 1.0 wt%, onto the various modified montmorillonite clay supports. Structural characteristics of the various samples were investigated through XRD and FTIR techniques. Textural and morphological characteristics were estimated from low-temperature adsorption- desorption isotherms of N2, SEM TEM and Cation exchange capacity of different modified clay samples ware also determined. Oxidative catalytic activities of various metal/clay nanocomposites samples were examined by the degradation efficiency of MB dye, as a typical model dye contaminant in industrial waste water taking into account the effect of PH, initial dye concentration, temperature and contact time. Diverse kinetics models to examine the degradation process of MB dye were also employed. |
