Abstract

It is building new towns on the outskirts of the ancient cities of the imperatives for the time being so as to reduce the steady increase in the old urban population, and reduce the burden on infrastructure and services. It has been used changing vegetation index (NDVI) for the production of agricultural and non-agricultural land maps. And also it was used adjusted index of change in the water (NDWI) to determine the dry areas in exchange for wet areas (fish farms) in the region. The main objective of this work was to evaluate the spatial and temporal changes in land use in the study area using data and techniques of remote sensing (RS) and geographic information systems (GIS). This is in addition to providing accurate estimates of the current terrestrial uses to support decision-makers with information appropriate for future development. Accordingly, the use of images TM) land at) in 1984 and 1999 (land sat8) in 2014 in this study. Use as the change in the vegetation index (NDVI) for the production of agricultural and non-agricultural land maps. And also it was used adjusted index of change in the water (NDWI) to determine the dry areas in exchange for wet areas (fish farms) in the region. Also it studied the effect of global warming on the rise of the sea and coastal areas level by proposing three different scenarios for sea-level rise by 5, 7 and 10 meters. The results have shown that agricultural land has increased by about 23.1 square kilometers in the period from 1984 to 1999, and about 30.1 square kilometers from 1999 to 2014. The overall increase in agricultural land during the 30 years from 1984 to 2014, about 53.2 square kilometers. This increase is due in farmland into land reclamation projects in the northern Nile Delta. On the other hand, the increase of water features water features about 16.3 square kilometers in the period from 1984 to 1999, and about 23.0 square kilometers from 1999 to 2014. The classification of land resulting from the fill gaps use the visuals Landsat (Landsat SLC-off), which was obtained in 2009 more accurately fill the gaps in the case of using the extension Landsat_Gap-fill in the ENVI program, compared filled out using MATLAB Matlab program. The overall accuracy of the images that have been filled out the gaps are not very high, as the gaps fill algorithms that can not be the actual values of the image points to recover but it is doing its estimate. Also it studied the effect of global warming on the rise of the sea and coastal areas level by proposing three different scenarios for sea-level rise by 5, 7 and 10 meters. It was a way to use multi-criteria assessment to determine the most suitable sites for industrial and tourist activities in the study area
