Abstract

With the tendency to move towards automated home energy management systems, observable, controllable and flexible network architecture for relia-ble and efficient energy delivery is required. This network enables Distrib-uted generation (DG) resources, in addition to the novel patterns of electrici-ty production, to be controlled efficiently in order to maintain the two-way energy flow between customers and utility. In this scope, this thesis intro-duces a new technique for online optimal operation of DG resources, i.e. Fuel cell (FC) and photovoltaic (PV) systems, for residential applications considering uncertainty in load forecasting
