Abstract Sudden unexpected death is an important clinical problem in epileptic patients with or without anti-epileptic therapy ( Isojarvi et al , 1995). It is suggested that, cardiac pathologic conditions may be responsible for the death of those patients ( Natelson et al, 1998). The possibility of cardiac arrhythmia should be considered in epileptic patients ( Steffensen et al ., 1992). where , cardiac dysfunction may occur during seizures and could caused sudden epileptic death syndrome (Oppenhein1er, 1990). It was found that, both simple and complex partial seizures may associated with tachycardia ( Marshall et al , 1983 & Frysinger and Harper 1990) and rarely with brady cardia (Coulter, 1984 and Goodman: et al., 1990). In addition, Miakotnykh andAntiuJ, (1990) reported that, there is a close relationship between epilepsy and the abnormalities of the conductive system of the heart . However, Drake et al, (1993) reported that, no severe arrhythmias and ECG changes observed in epileptic patients. |
