Abstract

HHPC is considered to be the primary document and forms a part of the clinical record that is exclusively used for antenatal visits to inform the pregnant woman about her pregnancy by having direct access to their ANC. When women move from one facility to another during pregnancy, a written form of continuity of care card should be maintained to influence the quality and safety of maternity care. The commonest method of accessing relevant antenatal information for the healthcare professional is the HHPC. The aim of this study was to explore the effect of introducing HHPC on the continuity of ANC at Mansoura University Hospitals. The study was conducted in Antenatal Clinic at Mansoura University Hospitals in Mansoura city. An experimental research design was used. The sample included 100 pregnant women selected by randomized controlled trial sample technique.
