Abstract The present study built up on selecting tolerant cultivars of wheat among various ones parallel with selecting appropriate doses of Se, Si and TiO2-NPs stimulating growth at early vegetative growth. Our characterization conducted to the whole growing cycle to analyze the final yield to record the pheno-physiological responses during the different growth stages and its relation to crop yield production to perform a more reliable image of the response of the selected cultivars under the interaction effect of drought and/ or Se, Si as well as TiO2-NPs. The present investigation divided into two parts, part I (short term experiments) as well as part II (long term experiments)The main experimental results of part I can be summarized as the following:- 1- As assessed from the data of shoot and root dry weight of wheat cultivars (durum and bread), dry matter stress tolerance index as well as fresh matter stress index under 50% FC merely indicated gradation of drought tolerance of the ten wheat cultivars as the following: cv. Seds 12< cv. Benisuif 5< cv. Sakha 93< cv. Sakha 94< cv. Sohag 3< cv. Benisuif 1< cv. Gemmeiza 1≤ cv. Giza 164< cv. Benisuif 3< cv. Sohag 2.The most tolerant two cultivars from each species were selected which are (cv. Seds 12, cv. Sakha 93 (bread wheat .as well as cv. Benisuif 5 and cv. Sohag. |
