Abstract The present study was performed to study the effect of supplemented different doses of nickel sulfate on the lipogenesis in liver of rats. Eight groups each of ten weaning male albino rats, mean weight ranged between 49.2--49.8g were used. The test groups were fed diets containing different doses of nickel as nickel sulfate, G 1 fed on basal diet (control), G2 , G3, G4 fed on nickel deficient diets (0.1,0.2,0.3 mglkg diet respectively ),G5 had an adequate diet which was contain 5 mg NiS04 .6H20/kg diet, wherein G6,G7,G8 received high nickel diets (25,50 and 100 mg!kg diet respectively) for 49 days. The blood and serum analysis included hematological study and determination of serum AST; ALT; iron; total cholesterol; HDL-cholesterol; LDL cholesterol; triacylglyccrols; phospholipids; total lipids; VLDL-cholesterol; activity of lipogenic enzymes ( glucosc-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, isocitrate -dehydrogenase and malic enzyme) and liver total lipids; phospholipids and triacylglycerols. The results of the present study can be summarized as follows:- (1) Body weight galls and feed consumption were significantly reduced in rats fed either deficient or high nickel diets than did those of control. |
