المستخلص

The language lab is considered an important learning resource in the field of teaching and learning
foreign languages and developing their skills. The language lab creates a learning environment
which is not present in the ordinary classroom. In the language lab, each student has his own
carrel which is equipped with the needed tools and equipments: recorders, tapes, printed
materials, video and computer which help him in learning. In addition he can learn individually
or with another or in a group without disturbing the other students in the lab. Therefore, it is
considered an ideal drill master.
Although the language lab provides the teacher with a lot of capabilities and advantages, these
capabilities depend on the teacher and his ability to use the language lab efficiently and
skillfully. The teacher in the language lab is a designer and a selective of learning materials,
media, activities and programs.
