Abstract A field experiment was carried out during 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 seasons at the Experimental Farm, Fac. of Agric., Minia Univ. to investigate the effect of compost and mineral NPK and/or biofertilization on vegetative growth traits, flowering aspects, essential oil production and chemical composition of yarrow plants. The obtained data revealed that plant height (cm), fresh and dry weights of herb/plant (g), flowering parameters and all studied oil production (oil % and oil yield/plant and /fed.) and it is components, as well as, chemical constituents (photosynthetic pigments and NPK %) were significantly increased due to the application of all levels of compost over those of control. The maximum values were recorded at the high level of compost (10 ton/fed.). All vegetative growth traits, top flowering aspects and oil productivity parameters, as well as, chemical determinations were significantly augmented as a result of using mineral NPK (full dose) followed by 75 % NPK + E.M® + M.A®. The most effective interaction treatments were compost (10 ton/fed.) in combination with mineral NPK (full dose) or 75 % NPK + biofertilizers (E.M® + M.A®). |
