Abstract
Ahmed Abdelraouf Abdelshafy Mahmoud, Econmic Study Of Some
Forage Crops In Egypt Under The Contemporary Local And
International Economic Variables, unpublished master thesis,
Department of Agricultural Economy, Faculty of Agriculture, Ain
Shams University, 2016.
Animal fodder is the main determinant of animal wealth
development because fodder demand is derived from the animal products
demand.
The problem of study is represented by two main dimensions.
The first is the fodder gap causing a deficit in the agricultural balance of
trade as a result of the large quantities of imported fodders. The second
dimension is that the fodder gap creates a real problem, that is the food
gap in red meat. This off cause is reflected in the gradual increase of meat
prices and decline of demand for it. Then, we can conclude that the fodder
problem is the actual problem of animal production sector in Egypt. So,
This study highlights this efficient productive element.
The study identifies the determinants of fodder production capacity to
include them in the policies of Egyptian fodders to meet the increasing
demand, enhance the animal wealth and meet the increasing demand for
its products Know or identify the current situation of green, dry and
concentrated fodder productive capacity. The study aimed to Know the
present, expected and required position of the fodder budget size in
Egypt. Identify the coverage ratio of seasonal fodder needs by the green
fodder crops and estimate the actual and required level of fodder
productive capacity. Identify the economic effects of using untraditional
fodders to minimize the fodder gap in Egypt to achieve the fodder balance
and minimize importation of fodder contents. Set a mechanism to raise
the fodder sector in Egypt. The main results of this study refer to extensive of forage gab between
24,8% to 59,3% during study period.
