Abstract Cervical cancer impacts many levels, the psychological impact on women, the financial burden on their families and society, and the years of life lost due to the early death. Women diagnosed with cervical cancer show emotional distress and anxiety. Even the treatment of cervical cancer can have long-term effects, in terms of fertility, physical pain, and intimate relationships, in addition to the psychological impact (Herzog and Wright,2007). Aim of the study: Assess the quality of life for women with cervical cancer undergoing radiotherapy. Study design: Descriptive research design was used. The study subjects met the following inclusion criteria: Had no presenthistory of chronic illness that affect women’s health related quality of life e.g. diabetes mellitus, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism and also had no malignancy. Subjects and method: The data were collected by the researcher through interviewing the women receiving radiotherapy and letting them answer the questionnaire. Tools of data collection: Two tools were used for data collection; the first tool was a structured interviewing questionnaire. It entailed the patient’s socio demographic data, while the second tool was the quality of life scale. It is a 30-item self-report questionnaire. |
