Abstract
Anti-tuberculosis treatment remains the most important and effective intervention for controlling spread of the disease, but adverse events from first-line anti-TB drugs are not uncommon.
A major adverse reaction to one of the first-line antituberculosis drugs, which results in discontinuation of that drug, has several implications. There may be considerable morbidity, even mortality, particularly with drug-induced hepatitis.
In our study we take the effect of the anti tuberculosis druges on kidneys.
The out come of our study revieled that 75% of of the patients recived Anti TB druges showing increase in serum creatinine from the base line.68% of patient showing decrease in creatinine clearance from the base line.
Noted through the study that the increase in serum creatinine and the decrease in creatinine clearance were more significance in the frist two months from the Anti tuberculose druges than the following four and six months. although patients with chronic renal failure (CRF) have a high incidence of tuberculosis (TB), possibly due to a decrease in cellular immunity , the anti tuberculosis druges have effect in rising the renal chemistry.
Recommendation
At the end of our study , we recommend further studys to be done in this aspect to clarify the effect of anti tuberculosis in kidenys.also we recommend to measure the serum creatinine as routine investigation for all patient on The anti tuberculosis druges espesilly the base line and after two months from the treatment.
