Abstract This study was planned in order to assess velopharyngeal functional and speech outcome of surgery for velopharyngeal insufficiency undergoing posterior pharyngeal wall augmentation using either porous polyethylene (Medpore) or a rolled superiorly based pharyngeal myomucosal flap.This study was conducted on a total number of twenty child diagnosed as having VPI failed consonant treatment following repaired cleft palate. They were all treated by augmentation pharyngoplasty procedures of their VPI.The patients were evaluated and managed with age ranging between 6 and 12 years with a mean of age 8.6 years |
