Abstract

Nothing can be more difficult, time consuming and frustrating than obtaining vascular access in a critically ill pediatric patient (4). There is a difficulty in pediatric population for venous access, especially in pediatric and neonatal Intensive Care Units. Central Venous Catheter that is (CVC) often called a Central Line is a long, flexible tube inserted into the right atrium of the heart. Nowadays, millions of CVC are used worldwide, so central venous line insertion is one of the most frequently performed procedure in critically ill neonates and for poor venous access, volume resuscitation, Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring, total parenteral nutrition, administration of medications, and cardiopulmonary resuscitatio.
