Abstract

The Nubian sandstone aquifer system is located in northeast Africa and spans the political boundaries of four countries :Chad, Egypt ,Libya , and Sudan.it is one of the largest groundwater systems in the world ,formed by two major basins, the Kurfa basin and the Dakhla basin. fluviatile paleozoic and mesozoic sandstones fill these basins , creating a huge groundwater formation. several major uplifts divide the entire aquifers into sub-provinces. Including the northern Sudan platform, the upper Nile platform and the northwestern basin.
