Abstract

Gas turbine plants are used for electricity production in many countries around the world because of their low capital cost, short synchronization time, stability with regard to the electricity grid availability in many countries, including in this case Egypt. Total electricity generated by gas turbine plants and combined cycles in Egypt is about (14,000 MW and increasing) from different gas turbine models and with various capacitiesInlet cooling methods are used to cool inlet air to boost the power loss on hot days. In this paper We choose identified power plant as example and focus mainly on nubaria combined cycle 750 MW power plant in Egypt as case study and will analyze gas turbine performance parameters with and without air cooling systems And do Economic analysis for four cooling systems based on site conditions. Systems used are evaporative cooler, fogging system, mechanical evaporative cooler and absorption system. For example the results indicate that the annual power gained by using evaporative cooling is (160,965 MWH), and the net cash flow is (7,885,968$) and the payback period is (0.59) year.SUMMARY
