Abstract

This study waosnc9o5ndpuactite!ndts with spontaneous
subarachnoid haemorrhage admitted to the Department of Neurosurgery, Aalborg hospital, Aalborg, Denmark in the period between aug\)st 1998 and august 2000.
The clinical presentation, methods of diagnosis, surgical procedures and final outcome were presented in the study:
Spontaneous SAH occurred more commonly in females (67.4%), during the 6111 decade of life in (31.6%), with an average age of 53.6 years. The series included 31 males and
64 females.
The diagnosis of spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) IS made by histoly and not by the physical examination, as the acute onset of an excruciating headache, with or without loss of consciousness, should be considered a SAH until proven otherwise.
