Abstract

()Determination of OCPs concentrations
In this study we measured 12 OCPs; 3 DDTs; (pp- DDD,
pp-DDT and pp-DDE), 2 HCHs; (HCH and -HCH), HCB,
Heptachlor, Heptachlor-epoxide, Methoxychlor, Aldrin, Endrin and
-chlordane in fish as following;
(a)Wild fish Tilapia nilotica (Nile Tilapia) and Clarias gariepinus
(Cat fish) that collected from Bahr Moyes , Zagazig , Sharkia,
Egypt.
(b)Farmed fish Tilapia nilotica that collected from Abbasa farm
Abohammad, Sharkia, Egypt.
(1) DTs (Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane and its derivatives):
Results showed that out of 60 fish samples analyzed 16 (80%),
16 (80%), 12 (60%) of the examined Tilapia nilotica (Bahr Moyes),
Clarias gariepinus (Bahr Moyes) and Tilapia nilotica (Abbasa)
respectively, were positive for DDTs with an overall detection of
44/60 (73.3%).
The mean residual concentrations (ng/g ww) of DDTs in the
mentioned fish were 53.3±38.3, 62.0±31.9, 20.2±11.4 respectively.
(2) HCHs (Hexachlorohexane isomers):
Results showed that HCH isomers ( and isomers) were
detected in 10 (50%), 18 (90%), 6 (30%) of the examined Tilapia
nilotica (Bahr Moyes), Clarias gariepinus (Bahr Moyes) and
Tilapia nilotica (Abbasa), respectively. The mean residual
concentrations of HCHs (ng/g ww) in the mentioned fish were
2.1±1.7, 367.0±151.0 and1.9±1.9 respectively.
