Abstract All mothers should be prepared for the possibility of cesarean delivery as an alternative to vaginal delivery through childbirth education classes and counselling. This is because 12% -50% of pregnant women are delivered by cesarean birth. Preparation for breast feeding should start early during the antenatal period. Counselling is the heart of most counselling programs, It is a face-to -face communication in which one person helps another to make decisions, and act on them. Any antenatal breast feeding counsltant, at any time, at any level should be able to help a client to make any decisions. Most women can chose to breast feed if they have adequate support, and correct information through precesarean birth counselling concerning breast feeding. |
