Abstract

In this work, activated carbons are introduced to different fields of gas filtration by differentforms; granules, Medium granules, and Nano particles. The non woven material used in thisstudy is polyester with acrylo- amide. Six filter samples of different carbon ratios were usedfor each type of activated carbon . The efficiency of filters measured by system consistsmainly of a group of sensors. This system can detect different gases; CO, CO2, and SO2.The effects of using filters, Temperature, Time have been studied. Comparison betweensamples of each gas has been made. Also, Relationships between air permeability and PPMand between density and PPM have been studied.from the results of this work, it has been obvious that, filter usage reduce the tested gasesconcentration, as PPM values before using filter are approximately three or four times morethan the values after the usage. The carbon size affect also on PPM values, as the carbon sizeincrease, PPM values increase. For this reason Nano Particles give the lowest PPM values.
