Abstract •The multi-detector row CT (MDCT) along with advances in software applications, allows, finer image resolution, detection of subtle contrast differences and minimizes image acquisition time, decreasing in this way the motion and partial volume effects.•The above features provided a higher level of confidence, particularly in diagnostic dilemmas which is of uppermost importance to determine benign or malignant nature of pulmonary nodules espicially SPN. •Although imaging is useful for the initial detection of lung cancers, the most common role of radiological imaging in patients with lung cancer is initial staging •There are various features, characteristics and parameters that need special attention by the radiologist in order to reach a safe conclusion about the malignant or benign nature of a nodule or mass. This study included 40 adult patients Known or suspected pulmonary nodules or masses all had done CECT examination by Multi detector CT (philips, CT 128 slices). |
