Abstract The present study was designed to reveal the effect of the metabolic disorders in the transition dairy cows on their reproductive performance and future fertility, also reveal the role of BCS in this critical period in the life of high producing dairy cattle. OBJECTIVES: Improve reproductive efficiency by decreasing the metabolic disorders in the transition period. METHODS: Blood samples were collected before and after parturition by ten days from 28 dairy cow belonging to Alexandria Copenhagen farm in Albehira governorate, serum metabolites was analyzed in the central lab of Mansoura university. RESULTS: The results reveal that there was a strong relationship between subclinical hypocalcaemia and reproductive disorders as well as reproductive efficiency. Although the animals fed negative DCAD ration, there was a lot of subclinical hypocalcaemic cases but no clinical hypocalcaemic cases were recorded. Ca. level shows marked increase after parturition due to applying the drenching program also the drenching program has a great effect on the disappearance of LDA as there is no cases were recorded. |
