Abstract

In this study, evaluated the effect of CPE as natural substance and HCG on general health status of common carp (C. carpio) and goldfish (Carassius auratus) broodstocks respectively. Clinicopathological finding of CPE treated group revealed non significant difference in RBCs count, haemoglubin value, packed cell volume and WBCs count, while there was significant difference in total protein, albumin, BUN, cortisol and glucose while immunological evaluation revealed non significant difference. In HCG treated group the results were as same as those of CPE treated group except immunological finding revealed significant increase in Nitric oxide production. The histopathological picture revealed that CPE and HCG have not adverse effect on different organs, while activation of different stages of vitellogenic follicles of treated group in both experiments.
