This study includes two chapters in addition to the introduction and conclusion. In order to understand the development of the religious festivals; its nature, importance, power, and even activities; we have to start with its origin. Therefore, the introduction is dedicated to an examination of some features that formed the ancient Egyptian and Greek celebrations, through which we are able to identify the extent of the interchanged influence.
The first chapter is discussing festivals of Greek gods in Egypt in Ptolemaic period, through three aspects: political, religious and social. In addition to, the Ptolemaic exploitation of the celebrations to review their power and their political and economic influence around the Mediterranean. The second chapter is concerned with festivals of Egyptian gods in Egypt in Ptolemaic period through dealing with the same aspects, in addition to the Ptolemaic employment these celebrations as a way to get closer to the Egyptians in order to strengthen their presence in Egypt.
And finally the conclusion is intended to clarify whether religious festivals are the way to approaching and intermingling between the Egyptians and the Greeks in Egypt in Hellenistic age, joining by this way the race of the interaction that already existed in Egypt in the Ptolemaic period!
