Abstract

The present study was carried out at the Farm of Animal Production Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Minia University during the period from December, 2014 to March, 2015. The main objectives of this study were to evaluate the cost analysis of multi-nutritional blocks (MNB) as feed supplement to sheep and to investigate the effects of MNB supplementation on the productive performance and some physiological reactions, gaining more information on the digestibility and rumen fermentation of growing Ossimi lambs. Completely randomized block design experiment using twenty five Ossimi male lambs of average age of 5.5 months and live body weight (BW) 20.0 ± 1.0 kg of were used in this study. The lambs were randomly divided into five equal groups (5/group treatment) each (5/ treatment). The five experimental treatments were as follow: the control, 100 % concentrate feed mixture (CFM) + soy bean straw 1 % of B W; T1, 75 % CFM + 25 % Block + soy bean straw 1 % of BW; T2, 75 % CFM + 25 % Block + 0.5 % of BW soy bean straw + 0.5 % BW Leucaena leucocephala hay (LLH); T3, 75 % CFM + 25 % Block polyethylene glycol + soy bean straw 1% of BW; T4, 75 % CFM + 25 % Block polyethylene glycol + 0.5 % of BW soy bean straw + 0.5 % BW LLH.
