Abstract The aim of the study was to compare the shaping ability of One Shape, Revo-S NiTi rotary instruments, and stainless steel K-Flexofile instruments when used to prepare curved root canals. A total of sixty mesiobuccal root canals of extracted human permanent mandibular molars were used. Those had curvature ranging between 200- 400, radius of curvature between 4-10mm, and length of curved part between 6-8mm. The samples were divided into three groups of 20 teeth each according to the instrument used. One Shape and Revo-S groups were instrumented using crown-down technique according to manufacturer instructions. Apical preparation was ended to size 25/.06. K-flexofile group was instrumented using modified double-flared technique with balanced force motion to size 25, then the canal was stepped back with larger files at certain intervals to produce 25/.06 apical preparation. Irrigation was done using normal saline and K-Y Gel was used for lubrication before file insertion in the canal. |
