Abstract

The present study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a program based on action research skills in developing 3rd year English majors’ reflective teaching in teaching practice and their professional attitude. Sample of the study consisted of third elementary English majors at the Faculty of Education, Minia University. Sixty one subjects were submitted to the pre implementation of the experiment. One group design and quasi experimental research were conducted. The implementation of the experiment was conducted and the tools were: the professional attitude scale, situation reaction test and teaching practice observation sheet. Procedures of the study included reviewing related literature, designing the tools of the study, submitting them to a jury, pre. testing the targeted population, applying a program in action research and the other tools and post-testing the targeted population. the Data analysis using t-test revealed that the post administering of students’ performance significantly surpassed their pre-performance in the three tools. Discussions of the study findings, recommendations and suggestions for further research were conducted.
