Abstract

More efforts are needed to increase the awareness of the common population with the symptoms of the disease, so that, this may help to avoid the delay of medical seeking, and this is the responsibility of Abbassia chest hospital as considering one of the prestigious chest hospitals in Egypt to declare annual announcement before each influenza season to inform the population all the necessary information about the disease, vaccines, symptoms, avoidance and the latest updates.
• Flu vaccine is recommended for people at high risk for developing flu complications.
• Another study concluding the patients whom not admitted at hospital but receiving (tamiflu®) based on symptoms, signs and suspicion, will help putting down results that we can account on to develop a clinical score, this score should improve H1N1 case identification in emergency departments, even if specific diagnostic test are negative (rapid antigen testing) or still pending (PCR), reducing the number of missed hospitalized H1N1 infection and optimize the decision making process in emergency departments regarding which patient has to be admitted with infection control measures.
• The decision taken for ICU admission should be made early without delay and, the criteria for ICU team interference timing should be revised.
