Abstract Background: Time management is simply self-management. It is an asset of related common sense skills that help head nurses to optimal use of the available time effectively to ensure quality patient care and productivity. Also, time management, stress and job satisfaction all related to each other and had an impact towards the service of organization to success. Subjects and methods: The study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a designed program of time management on stress and job satisfaction for head nurses. A Quasi-experimental design was used for a total number of head nurses participated. The study was conduct at Mansoura University Hospital includes 50 head nurses. Four tools were used for data collection: the first tool: Time management Questionnaire sheet consist of three parts: personal characteristic of head nurses, time waster Questionnaire, Time management behavior scale and the second tool: Stress in workplace Questionnaire. The third tool include: Job Satisfaction Questionnaire. The fourth tool include: An evaluation sheet. Results: There was a 100% response related to head nurse’s time waster post program implemented, stress level decreased after program of time management and three quarter of head nurses reported that job satisfaction was a moderate levels post the program. There is highly statistically significant relationship between time management practice and job satisfaction. Recommendation: Time management training is held for all hospitals and hospital personnel, especially nurses who tolerate more problems and stresses. Also, It is recommended that time management training be considered for all physicians, nurses, radiology staff and generally health personnel and treatment services as in-service periods. |
