Abstract
Water pollution with toxic metal ions represents one of the most serious environmental problems because of stability and non-degradation of these toxic species. So, it is important to provide efficient methods for quantifying these metal ions at trace level in environment. the presented thesis concerning with separation, preconcentration and spectrophotometric determination of some toxic metal ions such as Cd(II),Hg(II),Ni(II) and Zn(II) from different environmental and biological samples using surfactant assisted techniques (floatation and cloud point extraction).the thesis composed of three main chapters. Chapter one which is concerned with an introduction to toxicity and occurrence of toxic metals in addition to literature review on the methods of their separation and determination. Chapter two concerned with the instruments and analytical procedures. And in chapter three the obtained results and discussions has been recorded.
