Abstract

The present work was designed to establish a population based regression formula for both Upper Egypt and delta and find the difference between two populations.
The study has been don on apparently healthy students from AL- AzharAssiut university and Benhauniversity.It were done on (500) healthy adults (males). The age from 20-25 years. Measurement of: stature, head, left upper limb were recorded.
All Measurements were taken with a standard anthropometric technique. The measurements were recorded in centimeters to the nearest 0.1 cm. All the measurements were recorded by the same person to minimize the errors in methodology. Each measurement was taken three times and the mean was taken for further analysis.
from the present study, it was proved that :
1- There was positive correlation between stature and (head length, head breadth, head circumference, upper arm length, forearm length, hand length, hand breadth) and the highest correlation is between stature and forearm.
2- There was difference between delta and Upper Egypt in relation between stature and other measurements and also in regression equation.
Regression equations:-
1- for Delta region:
Stature=42.47+0.79(Upper arm) +1.49(Forearm) +2.09(Hand length) +3.86
2- for Upper Egypt region:
Stature=99.12+0.87(Upper arm) +1.67(Forearm)+4.05
3- for all studied populations:
Stature=54.51+0.58 (Upper arm) +1.69(Forearm) + 1.86(Hand length)+4.05
