Abstract HRS carries the worst prognosis of all the complications of liver cirrhosis. The main aim of this study was to evaluate cardiac output changes in patients with hepatorenal syndrome in comparison to patients with decompensated cirrhosis and patients with compensated liver cirrhosis. 100 patients were recruited for this study and were classified into 3 groups: group I: 40 patients with hepatorenal syndrome. group II: 40 patients with decompensated liver cirrhosis and ascites. group III: 20 patients with compensated liver cirrhosis. Echocardiography was used to assess cardiac function in all participants. The study showed an insignificant higher mean cardiac output among patients with HRS and patients with decompensated cirrhosis as compared to patients with compensated cirrhosis. |
