Abstract Imaging plays a crucial role in the initial detection of adnexal lesions and is used to confirm the presence of a mass, identify the organ of origin, and characterize the features of the mass. o Ultrasound is the primary imaging technique in ovarian cancer. o MRI plays a crucial role in characterizing adnexal masses that are indeterminate at US. o CT is not a primary imaging tool in the early diagnosis of ovarian cancer but it is used in staging and follow up. o PET/CT has a limited role in the initial evaluation of patients with ovarian cancer but it is used in staging and detection of tumor recurrence. |
