Abstract This study revolves around the use of power and ideology through Clancy’s The Bear and the Dragon as a military conflict between the Russian power and their interests with the American against the Chinese dragon that seeks to preside over the region via some fraud and deception through the media. The researcher displays some religious issues that would escalate the critical situation among the conflicting parties. The research follows some data collected from the first three chapters through Jack Ryan’s’ annotated speech and their relation to the other characters through a descriptive – analytic approach through which the researcher clarifies the meaning of power and ideology through some linguistic features of the text. The researcher displays a conclusion by which he gives some results for treating the main issue. |
